Summer recap!

Since I was so bad about blogging this summer, here is a short summary of all our fun adventures:
1. Camping in Idaho with my cousin, Tasha, her husband, Cade, and their 3 adorable kids: CJ, Payten, and Aspen
2. Family reunion in Sunriver
3. Trips to Pronghorn
4. Beach trip
5. Hike
6. Another beach trip

So first up:
1. Camping in Idaho

We had been looking forward to taking the kids camping this summer and our first trip was in McCall Idaho with my cousins. We made the 7 hour drive to Meridian where they live and stayed there for two nights. The girls were ecstatic and couldn't wait. They did AWESOME on the long drive over...how did parents do it before TV's in the car?!
Girls didn't skip a beat when we got there, started playing hard right away and kept going the whole time we were there pretty much. In fact, Bria couldn't sleep she was so excited, she went to bed late and still woke up at 5 am! So yeah, I FORCED her to take a nap the next day...
Don't know the last time this girl took a nap
We did some swimming at Cade's brother's house and the girls loved it of course. I swear, they were mermaids or fish or something in another life.

Love me some Tasha time!

Taking all the kiddos for a ride
Of course, you can't pile this many kids on a raft, dump them, and not expect an injury. Reese's head met Bria's mouth with so much force that it knocked her not-loose-tooth back. She screamed bloody murder and it took a few minutes before I realized how bad the injury was...
Her gum turned purple for a few days
It ended up causing her quite a bit of pain, especially when eating. I felt horrible, especially considering there wasn't anything I could do. Aside from her scream when it first happened, she handled it pretty well.
The night before we left for McCall we had dinner, ice cream, and a nice evening park/walk.

Bria and Payten...the sweetest
We loaded up the next morning and headed for camping!
Camping fun

Reese and Aspen, they are hilarious together

Playing games and eating s'mores

A little morning fire to warm us up

The days were pretty hot there and fortunately we were able to cool off in the lake that was within walking distance. The kids asked constantly to go to the lake, I think it was their favorite part of the camping trip.

Pure joy

Sweet little Aspen, she has the cutest giggle

Payten has such a calm nature

CJ is so sweet and genuine

Brian taking the kids paddle boarding

My hubby taking me out for a ride :)
We had such a great camping trip.

The rest of our summer to follow...
