BOB

So remember when I posted about a new addition to the family? Well, I totally forgot to come back to that. Talk about Mom brain, sheesh.
Anyway, BOB is my new stroller (not my battery operated boyfriend ;). He's pretty. And awesome. He glides like he's on rails with a suspension that puts a Jeep Wrangler to shame.
I love BOB.
I drove all the way to Washington for him, some nice woman on craigslist was selling him and I snatched him up. I got a killer deal and that made Brian happy. So it was a win-win.

Someone sure knew what they were doing when they created the BOB. It's wide enough for two kids comfortably (with a little bit of a wall between them so they don't fight, THANK YOU!) but it fits through door ways (barely, but it does!).
I got one with a fixed front wheel. It's perfect for running which is why I wanted the fixed front wheel. If you just want something for strolling around then a rotating front wheel is best. But those can pull to one side easily which is why I like the fixed for running.
Apparently I have turned into a stroller sales woman.

In addition to my awesome BOB, I got new running shoes!

Bright purple, I am in love.
I started running about 4 or 5 months ago and before I went out and got a new stroller and shoes and some workout clothes, I wanted to prove to myself (and Brian) that I was dedicated and going to stick with it. So I did. I'm proud of myself and I'm super happy about my stroller and shoes, both have made a world of difference when running.
The girls don't fight in the stroller, they happily sit there and are totally content. My feet are not killing me at the end of my run any more, so yeah, I'm super happy.
And it feels weird to have a blog post without pictures of my girls, so here are a few.

Reese found the craft cabinet, I think we will nickname her Tornado Reese, she makes a mess wherever she goes
Here are some pictures from the fountain park a few weeks ago:
I kept telling Bria not to do this, but then I looked around and realized EVERY kid did it too

So lady like ;)

 Love me some summer time!

13 hours and baby cuddles

So Bria hasn't been napping for the last month or two. At least not consistently, about 2 or 3 times a week she'll get tired enough and pass out for an hour. I'm actually totally okay with it because Reese is taking two naps and their naps aren't really overlapping anymore so this way we can get out of the house easier.
Anyway, the other evening I took her for a bike ride and she was throwing a big fit so when we got back home at 6 pm I told her she needed to go to her room and take a break. At 6:30 pm I went to talk to her and she was sound asleep in her bed all cuddled up.
We did not hear from her until 7 am the next morning. Not even kidding. 13 hours.
I tried to take her to the bathroom at 10 pm when we went to bed, but I could not for the life of me wake her up.
The girl was TI-RED!
Playing musical glasses

The food coloring just makes it pretty :)
I would love to get her in piano lessons but, um, we don't have a piano so that might be difficult :)
And he's just a photo of my youngest, wondering why I always have the big camera in my face
So the Tegner's stopped by on their way down from Seattle where Jax attended his first Yankees game! Only 2 1/2 weeks old and already a super fan :)
I was beside myself with giddyness, I waited at the window (literally, I'm not joking) until I saw their car turn the corner into our neighborhood and then I ran outside to greet them at the car. I promptly took Jax and went inside. I think Jenny and Kyle eventually came in, who knows, I had the baby and that was all I needed. Just kidding...kind of ;)
He was so precious and I can't believe how big Reese is now, it made me realize how flippin' fast she is growing.
The girls were smitten with their cousin. Reese loved his hair, she is slightly jealous.
"Wow, that's a lot of hair Aunt Jenny, how did you do that?"

It looks like Bria is cuddling her sister, but in reality she picked her up and moved her on the floor so that she (Bria) could be closer to Jax.

Holding her baby cousin

Holding my 3rd and newest nephew, I could not get enough

Oh the cuteness

His little personality coming through

Here he is thanking his Dad for bringing him to see his Aunt Lulu :)

We're matching because we're awesome

Brian got to hold him for a second, long enough so I could take a picture and then I snatched him back
I didn't realize how brutal it would be not to be able to see Jax everyday. They grow so fast at this age that I don't like not being able to see him often and help Jenny out. But fortunately Aunt Jaime and the Moms have been taking great care of Jenny. Jenny and I talked about how bad we felt that when Jaime had babies we were young and didn't help.
We would go over and snuggled our nieces and nephews, eat her food, and then leave, lol. I mean, we didn't even bring her dinner! Sorry Jaime, we were so young! We'll make up for it somehow though.

Track meet

The parks and rec here puts on an All Comers track meets on Wednesday nights during the summer, including little adorable kids. So Randi, Amanda, me and our families all went together and watched our little tracks stars tear it up.
I was so anxious to see how Bria would do and what she would think of it all. First up was the hurdles. Yes, they have hurdles for little kids. Yes, it was as cute as it sounds.
I don't have picture of Bria doing it, but here is a picture of one of Amanda's little boys, Weston (I know, I love that name too), doing the hurdles.
Adorable, right?
Bria did pretty well and she had fun which was the most important part to me, I want her to like the experience.
Then we waited around for the 200m dash, which is half the track. I was pretty excited because Randi and I have been running in the morning on the track together and we let Presleigh and Bria run some laps after we are done. I thought for sure she was gonna take off.
Stretching for the big race
She did awesome for the first quarter and when we came around the turn all the parents were there cheering her on which she loved (I was running behind her). She also thought at that point she was done so when I let her know we had to go to the finish line she was a little frustrated and exhausted. The competitive side in me came out and I wanted her to run and finish it, but I knew better so I told her we could slow down and walk. She finished and got her ribbon :)
We are gonna do it again this Wednesday and I look forward to another great race, hehe.
Reese is giving Charleigh a pep talk (I can't get over the cuteness of this photo)

I freaking love my husband, he makes me smile

Randi and Amanda are two of the sweetest friends ever, they are the best

Bria and Bennett with their ribbons!!

The three track stars!

Jungle Gym

I feel like I spend 9 months of the year waiting for summer and now that it's here I don't know if I'm taking full advantage! So I signed Bria up for 2 classes, one is a dance class and the other is a sports class. We'll see how they go, I'm hoping it'll be good to have something to guarantee we get out of the house.
Full of cuteness and attitude

Such a big kid

Love her
The girls' favorite thing to do is climb all over Dad. He is jungle Daddy for sure. The second he lays down they are all over him, climbing, jumping, flipping, flopping. He brings it on himself though.
Reese learned by watching her big sister

Already walking all over their Dad
They know they can't climb on me like they can their Dad, partly because there is not as much room (I'm not calling you fat hun) and partly because I have more areas (boobs) that hurt when they get smushed.

10 months

I think since Reese is 10 months old I should start thinking about her 1st birthday party. Holy cow, that gives me a little panic attack.
So what is my little peanut up to? And what are her stats? Let's take a look:

  • Weight: 16 lbs 12 oz (this was her weight at her 9 month check up, I think it's about the same)-20th percentile
  • Height: 26.5 inches 10th percentile (the doctor thinks maybe they didn't measure her accurately because it seems weird to go from the 90th percentile at her 2 month appt to the 10th, but either way she wasn't worried in the least)
  • Head-Don't remember inches, but it was in the 50th percentile
  • Clothes: 9 months
  • Shoes: Uh, maybe size 1, maybe 2?
  • Diapers: size 3

  • Crawling all over the place all the time, busy girl!
  • She pulls herself up on everything and scales furniture
  • She can stand by herself when she is in the mood and has taken 2 steps...twice!
  • Waves hi and sometimes says hi
  • Says Mom and da da and non (not sure what it means but it means something)
  • LOVES babies, whether it's a doll or a real baby, she loves them

  • Prefers me but loves her Daddy a lot and is so playful with him, she's already pegged him as the fun Daddy :)
  • Nurses 3 (occasionally 4) times a day, eats 3 meals a day, and sometimes a snack or two
  • I feed her mainly real people food and cut it up for her then she makes a huge mess getting it in her mouth, but she's getting better at getting most of it in her mouth as opposed to her high chair and the floor
  • Some of her favorites: bananas, avocados, blueberries, peaches, nectarines, watermelon, and cheerios
  • Drinks water like it's going out of style, and without fail she throws her sippy cup on the floor when she's done taking a big old swig
  • Puts everything in her mouth, she has eaten chalk twice
  • Climbs the stairs and wants to do it all day long, what really stinks is we can't put a gate at the bottom of our stairs due to the setup of it all, ideas are welcome because it's only a matter of time before she tumbles down them and lands at the bottom on hard wood, I'm terrified
  • LOVES her feet being rubbed. She has always been a stinker on the changing table, she screams and turns and contorts her body all over because she hates sitting still, but if I start rubbing her feet she gets completely still and just lays there, it's awesome
  • Is not a big fan of being in water like her sister, I think we need to do swim lessons soon to help this matter
Reese at 10 months

Bria at 10 months
Also Bria at 10 months (showing that she had more hair than her little sister does...if you would've told me that Bria had more hair than my next child would have I would not have believed you)
I do think they look a lot alike, but these pictures make me realize there are definitely differences. I don't know if it's because we have a nicer camera now but Reese's eyes are even more blue than Bria's were.
These girls sure love each other, and fight, and like each other, and scream, and are just the light of our lives.
Happy 10 months sweet Reese, we love you!

Bria is very suspicious of what is happening

Is that a fake smile or what?

Social butterfly and backyard camping!

One of the first questions that Bria asks in the morning is who we are going to see and where are we going to go.
She's made so many good friends up here and I think she really enjoys it. Playing dress up is one of her favorite things to do, fortunately all her friends have dress up clothes :)

Bria and Kenzie

Caiden gettin' some love from the ladies...I love Sophie's face, she's saying "Easy ladies, that's my brother!"
Last Saturday night Bria had a sleepover and camp out. Brian was super excited. He decided he really wanted to camp out with Bria in the backyard and invited his co-worker, Bruce, and his son Liam. Now, Liam and Bria absolutely adore each other. We've gotten together for playdates with them and Bria just LOVES him. Seriously.
She talks about how she is going to marry him and just today I had the following conversation with her:

Bria: "I want to go to the store that Grammy goes to when she sings and I want to go there with Liam.
Me: ? "Wha?"
Bria: "Where we sing, I want to go there with Liam!"
Me: (channeling my psychic mom powers) "Oh, you want to go to Grammy's church with Liam?"
Bria: "YEAH!!"

I love that she wants to take him to church :)

Anyway, back to the camp out. So Bruce and Liam packed their stuff and came over. Unfortunately Brian and Bria were at the store when they arrived, but 2 minutes later they came home and when Bria saw Liam she ran as fast as she could and clothes lined him to the ground.
We all thought she was going in for a hug, including Liam, but she tackled him to the ground in pure happiness. It was hilarious to say the least.
They played in the pool out back where I saw Bria lean her head on his and tell him, "Liam, I want to marry you." His reply? Embarrassed giggle.
Yeah, it was the cutest thing ever.
After dinner, dessert, pool time and running around like crazy kids, they settled in for a movie. Or 3. No, they did not watch 3 movies from start to finish. They watched about 20 minutes of each. Fickle kiddos couldn't make their minds up.

Liam with his dinosaur and Bria with her snake

Snuggled in their sleeping bags for a movie

It was 9:30 at this point and although I normally would freak out (okay, so maybe internally I was freaking a little), Bria was having a blast and so was Brian. Finally they went and set up the tents and we got everything ready. The kiddos each took a flashlight out and got into their tents with their Dads, despite their requests to sleep together in the same tent.
The Dads' plan was to sit outside the tents and chat while the kids slept, but Liam was a little homesick, so they put him in the tent with Bria and he was out. Bria? Oh she was in heaven, she was crawling on him, talking to him and just being goofy. Liam slept through all of it.
I know, I'm jealous too.
Before nodding off to sleep Bria asked Brian if they could build a fire. He told her it was too late (plus, we don't even have a fire pit, but ya know, minor detail) and she said, "Dad, we are camping and you said we could build a fire." Love that girl. He convinced her they would do it next time.
I guess we will be getting a fire pit or something.
Then, she finally fell asleep.
And Brian took this picture.

Are you kidding me?! That is ADORABLE!!! My little mother hen is comforting him and I just love it. She is such a cuddler.
The Dad's ordered Dominos apparently, and had the guy deliver it over the fence. I'm not even joking. I was laughing when I saw the pizza boxes the next morning.
Bria woke up at 5 am to what was probably a nightmare and Brian couldn't get her to calm down so he finally put her in her own bed where she slept until 9 am.
Brian can't wait to do another Daddy/Daughter camp out, with both his girls :)

All over the place

Having two girls is pretty fun. They feed off each other, when one screams, the other screams louder. Brian loves it ;) There are times each day where they get along so well and I cherish those moments. I'm pretty sure it only gets harder to make them get along so I'm enjoying it while I can. Don't get the wrong idea, they don't always play happily together. Bria can get very annoyed with her little sister and Reese can pull Bria's hair like no other, but they still love to laugh and scream together and that makes me happy.
Well maybe the screaming isn't super cool, but I do like that they are happy.

Let's chat for a minute about Reese. She is busy. No seriously, the girl is nonstop, go go go. Bria was not like this at all. We didn't have to baby proof our house, she didn't ever crawl far enough away from us to even get into trouble.
Reese, oh she is a different story.
She is all over the place and she is fast. She heads for the stairs and climbs, stopping occasionally to chill on the edge of a stair. Don't worry, I'm right there with her to prevent her from tumbling down the stairs head first. And we now have a gate at the top of the stairs.
Since the moment Reese figured out the army crawl, she hasn't wanted to sit still. Reading to her is not exactly a Hallmark moment, she squirms and either tries to rip the pages or eat the book. She could spend all day long holding onto my fingers and walking around...my back does not agree with this. She wants to explore everything and is such a curious little thing.

Not happy about having to sit still for 2 seconds so I can take a picture

Trying to grab the camera

However, although she may be incredibly busy at all times and rather exhausting, she is the BEST cuddler ever. She loves to give hugs and is so good at them. She will lay her head down on your shoulder and grab on tight with both arms, it's the absolute sweetest thing. I guess she gets tired from being so busy that she wants to stop and cuddle, I think I can handle that ;)
