To the zoo!

My cousin and I got a Zoo membership for 14 months for a smokin' deal so now we get to go to the Zoo whenever we want. And the bonus of it all is that Bria and I can ride the Max there. Bria could not wait to get on the "train" and go to the Zoo and see Bristol.
I believe she was asking me a very important question here, like when the heck is the train coming mom?!
Pretty smile

The girls had a blast. But not necessarily because of the animals, because they got to run around with each other.
They ran all over.
I'm not lying.

They stopped a few times to look at the animals.

But then they went back to running.

I think we'll be spending most of our summer at the Zoo, even if it is just to run around.

In other Holcomb news, we are going to be moving. Not very far, about 7 minutes away into a house. We are not buying it, just renting, but I cannot tell you how excited we are. It's been tough going from a house to an apartment (queue the violins) and so we decided to start looking for a house to rent. We weren't in a hurry but we found a gem and are so excited. Lawn maintenance is included which is great since we don't have a lawn mower anymore and the most exciting thing for me is that there is A/C!!!! I was so worried about being pregnant in the summer and having to endure hot weather with no escape. I'm just so giddy to have a/c.
So we're going to be moving in the middle of April and it can't come soon enough. I'm not excited about moving again because that sucks, but it'll be worth it.
And that about wraps up our news for now. Wednesday is our next baby appointment and hopefully we get to schedule the big u/s at this one, yay!

Waking up on the wrong side of the bed

I woke up a little cranky this morning, mainly because Bria woke up early and for some reason that always puts me in a bad mood. It's stupid I know, but I just can't help it. I'm gonna do great with a toddler and newborn, huh? ;) I'm taking applications for live a live in nanny, the only requirement is that you are related and love my children to the moon and back. I can think of a few people ;)
Anyway, she had a few meltdowns before we even had a chance to eat breakfast and I was so frustrated. Brian came over and was rubbing my shoulders which felt heavenly and Bria was watching us intently. Brian gave me a kiss and said, "I love you," and then went to finish getting ready for work. Bria looked at me and said, "Mommy loves Daddy too." I love what these little kids pick up.
So our morning is getting better, I'm drinking coffee (I'm allowed 300 mg of caffeine so back off, I don't do it every morning! I'm a little touchy :) and blogging while Bria watches some tv. Then we'll get ready for the day and...well I'm not sure what we'll do. But in the very least we'll play with fairies or color or paint or something.
I have lots of random photos from the last month or so that I thought I'd post.
Bria loves when Heather comes to watch her :) Mommy and Daddy love it too.

Whenever Brian naps on the couch Bria thinks she has to climb all over him.

And this was Bria's attempt at going to work with Daddy.
The weekend is almost here, yay!

Trail Blazers!

Kyle got us an unbelievable hook up. We got club seats to a Blazer game (Blazers vs. Mavs) and it was incredible. It was a welcome home gift to Lance since he's a huge Blazer fan and it was the perfect gift, way to go Kyle!
There were 6 of us that went: Jenny & Kyle, Lance & Kayla, and Brian & me. Brian and I rode the Max there (a huge perk of living in the big city ;) and we had dinner there since they had unbelievable food and it was all free, since we're high rollers and all ;)
We had such a good time even before the game started. When it was time to take our seats I couldn't wait to see the Stunt team out on the court. Brian and I did the Stunt team a few years back and we had some good times, it was really fun to see them out there.
And the biggest surprise of all was waiting for the 3rd quarter:
Not only was Lance on the jumbotron, they announced his name and rank and thanked him for his service to our country. Can you believe that?! If you look closely you can see his rank and name on the jumbotron: Petty Officer 3rd Class Lance Armstrong. Lance was on cloud 9, he was in shock and kept saying the whole night how he couldn't believe he was on the jumbotron. It was so awesome and once again, a huge thanks to Kyle for that awesome hook up.
The game was absolutely unbelievable. We ended up winning by 3 points and it was so exciting!
Kyle, Lance, and Brian after our big win

Jenny, Kayla, and me

The whole gang :)

We had such a good time and I told Kyle we have to do that again, club seats are definitely the way to go.

She says funny things

Happy St. Patrick's Day (a day late)
Brian was in Arizona yesterday for work (he's back home this morning, I love his one day trips vs week trips :) so Bria and I had a pretty chill day here at home.
We vacuumed the house, which entailed me holding Bria's hand the entire time and she held the cord. This girl does not like the vacuum, but she's learning to deal with it as long as we have a hand on her.
We also ventured outside for a walk. Bria found lots of mud puddles and one big water puddle at the end. She eventually fell in the water puddle but that was a lot easier to clean up than the mud so it's all good.
Love her curls, her hair is getting so long...in the back, the sides still need to catch up so we can get rid of the crazy mullet style.

This weekend we don't have a ton of plans which is nice, it feels like we've been pretty busy every weekend for awhile so I'm excited to relax a bit.

Bria decided not to nap the entire week. I'm not sure what got into her, she would sit in her crib for almost 2 hours, talking. I actually didn't mind it because she'd fall asleep at night by 8 pm and then wake up between 8 and 8:30 am, score! Yesterday she actually did fall asleep but I woke her up at 3:15 pm so she would still be ready for bed. I don't know if this no nap thing will stick or if she'll go back to napping, time will tell.
Bria also crawled out of her crib the other day during nap time. This was a huge shocker as she has never been a climber. However, I put 3 books in there with her (since she wasn't sleeping) and one of them was pretty thick, she stacked them by the edge and used them to climb over. Hmm. We were going to race and get her big girl bed, but it hasn't happened since and I really think it was due to the books, so I'm hoping we can have her in the crib a little longer, I'm not ready for the big girl bed yet.

And I don't want to forget the funny things Bria says so here are some quotes from her:

{In the car, she hates the sun in her eyes}
"No sun, that's MY eyes!"

"Mom, I'm the boss. No you're the boss."

"Thank you, I appreciate that, bye bye."

"I'm so tired, my back hurts." She soooo copied this from me.

"You did a great job, Mom!" After going to the bathroom.

"I'm so glad to see you Daddy!" When he gets home from work.

There's more but I'll have to save them for another post. She sure is a character with a big personality :)

Playin' in the mud

I think it was Monday that we got a break in the rain so I put Bria's rain boots on and we trudged outside. It was wet and muddy but it felt great to go out for a walk and Bria agreed. She found endless amounts of leaves, pine cones, and mud. It was inevitable that she would eventually fall in the mud and sure enough she did. Fortunately, she didn't get hurt, she just got up and looked at her hand and said, "Dirty. Mommy doesn't like messes."
I laughed and we walked home to clean her up.

Proud of her dirty face
I should've put her in a different coat

While I cleaned up all Bria's clothes, she played with the dishes in the kitchen sink and cleaned herself up. It was a fun, Oregon, afternoon.

Monday we also went to her 2nd gymnastics class and it went really well. Bria listened a lot better this time and even though she still doesn't like somersaults, she was a trooper at all the other stuff. She's definitely a momma's girl in the class so I'm trying to help her socialize a little more. She's a ham around family!

And last but not least, here are some videos of my two favorite people. Bria loves to do cheerleading with Daddy. The first video is a blooper, and no worries, she was not hurt :)

Getting dressed up

We've been looking forward to Jeff and Caitlin's wedding all winter and it finally came. Brian (and myself) worked hard on the ceremony and wanted to make it just perfect for them. With lots of practice it came out beautifully. I'm always so proud of my husband when he's standing up there officiating :)
Nothing like the look on a groom's face when he sees the bride for the first time.

Getting hitched :)

The ceremony went great and of course Brian made some funny jokes and had everyone laughing. The bride was beautiful, I just love weddings.

Us during dinner

Nate and Amy

We had our baby! ha! Not really, obviously. Jeff's cousin, Kelly, had his 5 month old little girl there and oh my word she was so incredibly sweet. The wedding and reception went from 3 pm to 8 pm and I heard her cry for a total of 10 seconds. She was the best baby ever. She even slept for part of the time, music playing and all. So anyway, Kelly let me steal her for awhile. I was in heaven with this little baby. Brian and I both got so excited for our little one to come.

I am in love with this red velvet cupcake. I want another one right now.

Guys will be guys

Welcome to the married club Jeff :)

Caitlin's hair and dress were gorgeous, she looked stunning

I like standing next to Amy and Liz, I look so tall!

Us gettin' our groove thing on.

So, Heather came to the rescue and watched Bria both Friday and Saturday. She is incredibly generous, especially because Bria has a cold and taking care of a sick toddler is very exhausting. Brian and I really are so grateful to her, I can't imagine trying to do all that wedding stuff while dragging a toddler around, a sick one at that. Plus, it was a mini vacation for Brian and I and it felt really good to hang out with our friends and just let loose. Thanks Aunt Heather, we owe you one (Brian owes you lots!).

Things we be doin'

This week we had a nice sunny day and it was in the mid 50's, wahoo! Almost time to break out the shorts :) I took Bria to the park and she of course had a blast, we played there for an hour before she was ready to go home and have dinner.

Bria waking up Daddy from his nap...with MJ on his head.

Daylight savings is this weekend and I'm looking forward to it staying lighter in the evenings, it makes it feel like summer is close. Which, for us Oregonians, it's still a good 3 1/2 months away.

We have a dinner rehearsal and wedding to go to for our friends this weekend. Brian is actually performing the ceremony so he has a big role. I'm always excited to see him officiate.
Heather is watching Bria for us tomorrow so we can go to the rehearsal and then I think we are going to brave taking her to the wedding on Saturday. Although I'm thinking now I should've tried to get a babysitter because the wedding is an hour and forty minutes away and she'll have to skip her nap.
Long car ride + destination that is not fun for a toddler + no nap=DISASTER
Ugh.

Next week we are going to a Blazer game with Lance, Kayla, Kyle and Jenny. I am really excited. Brian and I haven't been to a game since we were on the Stunt team so I think it'll be a lot of fun and I'm really looking forward to it. And hopefully the Blazers win :)

Gymnastics

So it's true, we are having another baby! We are so excited and can't wait for Bria to be a big sister. I am also a little scared, can I handle 2?! With the help of my Superman husband and awesome family, I know I'll survive :)

I found a gymnastics class for Bria that is once a week for half hour and parents participate. We went last week to the open gym part to check it out and Bria loved it. So today was our first day in the class and it was really fun. I learned just how cautious my little girl is, and also how she needs to learn to follow directions from a teacher. I think all the fun stuff to do and other kids were distracting to her so hopefully as we continue to go she'll learn to listen.
Here are some pictures from last week:
I put her in leggings and a onesie, closest thing I could get to a leotard :)

She loved the mini foam pit they had

They had a wide balance beam for little ones, so cute.

I think this class will help her develop some motor skills and learn to be more physical. Although, I may eat my words if she starts getting daring and climbs out of her crib ;)

Last week Heather and Amy came over because Amy wanted to give Bria her birthday present. I was thrilled to pieces that Amy found the ever impossible Terence doll. Bria LOVES Terence but it's hard to find things themed around him. She has a Terence book and that's it. So she was very excited to get Terence and loves carrying him around.

We had a really good weekend, it was busy but a very good busy. We ended up dropping Bria off with Aunt Heather on Saturday and going to Ikea with Jimmy, Erin, and Gabe. It was a fun trip and we got end tables for our bed and a new file cabinet. We're all sorts of organized now :) Afterwards we went to Yo cream for a tasty treat, Bria would've liked that part so I'll have to take her to one sometime.
Before Heather dropped Bria off that night we put our file cabinet together. There's nothing like some Ikea furniture to make you bond with your significant other. We seriously had fun putting it all together.
Sunday we had brunch with Marna and Heather. Marna has been in Kentucky for 5 weeks helping Sara with baby Gabriel since Jon deployed 10 days after he was born. Sara is doing really well and Marna had a blast spending so much time with her grandson.
After nap time it was clean the house time and it felt great to be so productive. Now it's Monday and I want it to be Friday already ;)
