Lots of drool

Another sign of teething: massive amounts of drool.
Bria's got it. She is soaking her shirts with drool, drool is dripping from her mouth to the floor, she's drooling on us, MJ, everything. It may be time to start putting a bib on her 24/7 because changing her outfit 10 times a day makes for lots of laundry. Although it's fun to dress her in lots of different outfits :)

Bria does some funny things with her cute little toes. She likes to give the thumbs up with her foot:
I love this little outfit (thanks Heather!):
Drunk picture:
"Dewd, I sink I haz too many dwinks mom."

And proof of the drool mentioned above:

I am getting really excited for Halloween and can't wait to decorate the house this week! I found a cute ladybug costume at Target that I just had to have so I went and got it yesterday. I know she won't remember it and she can't even really go trick or treating, but it's still her first Halloween and I want some cute pictures :) We tried it on her last night and oh my goodness it was cuteness overload! Bias much? I can't help it, I'm her mommy.

A friend

Bria met a little boy, Bennett, that was about a month younger than her and it was so stinkin' cute. He was a friend of a friend's little boy at the Beaver tailgator we went to. They were adorable together and would grab each other's leg or arm or back. Bria was obsessed with his ear and kept grabbing it and trying to eat it. They would look at each other and then go back to drooling on the toys. It was so much fun to watch and made me wish I knew someone that had a baby Bria's age.

In this picture Bennett is trying to tackle her:
Then he decides to give her hugs and help her sit up:
It was funny that he was so much bigger than her even though he's younger. Although little boys are usually bigger to begin with.

"Uh, Mom, he's grabbing my uniform off, are you gonna help or just take more pictures?"

"Hey Bria, what did your mom put on your head?"

"I think they're trying to get our attention for another picture. Man they act silly."

Cute little beaver friends :)

We have just been relaxing this morning in our pj's and enjoying Brian's last summer day before fall term starts. His last fall term!!

"Pleeeeease Daddy will you buy me that pretty dress?"

Just come out already!

I think Bria's other bottom tooth is trying to pop up. I've been able to see it under her gums for awhile but her short naps and now her stuffy nose have given it away. Bria had a stuffy nose for a week and a half before her first tooth popped up, so it looks like that other one should show up in about a week. I hate that her nose gets stuffy, poor thing. She doesn't like me sucking her boogers out with that blue thing, but I don't want to leave all that snot up there either. Teething is fun.
Babies only have 2 teeth right?

And it's a miracle, I was finally able to post a video. This one shows the love between MJ and Bria...since I haven't talked about that enough ;) The funny part of the video is when I tell MJ to not lick Bria's mouth, they both look at me like they're in trouble.

Weekend away

We went to Portland this last weekend and had a wonderful time, as always. Amy and Heather don't let us lift a finger while we are there, they are on track to win best hostess' of the year.

Like I mentioned before, Brian and I got to go out and have an afternoon just the two of us. It was of course wonderful and it's always fun spending time together. After we got back to Heather's it was time to put the Beaver gear on and watch the game!
Unfortunately we did not win. But we had a good time snacking on chips and dip, beer, and playing with Bria.
Grandma getting some Bria time while she looks fondly at her Daddy:
It was nice to just hang out and relax. I'm pretty sure MJ was jealous of the attention that Grandma was giving to Bria so she cut in:
For our half time show Bria demonstrated how incredibly fun it is to play peek-a-boo with a blanket:
There were many squeals of delight :)
Cutest cheerleader ever.

After putting Bria to bed we all watched a movie and drank some wine. Then we headed to bed because the Race for the Cure was bright and early. Although for Brian and I it was the same wake up time as usual.
Grandma, Bria, Brian, and Heather:

Brian's mom is a breast cancer survivor so we were walking in celebration of her. We really lucked out because it was a beautiful morning to walk and we really enjoyed it. Afterwards we all went out to breakfast as we were starving. I was also pretty tired because Bria didn't sleep so well the night before. As you can imagine, a tired and hungry Lindsey is grumpy!

We were also able to stop by and see my cousin, Lanie, which was so nice. Bristol has gotten so big and is filling out quite nicely :) She was adorable and Bria wanted so badly to touch her but I knew she'd squeeze her too tightly so just let her look.

It was an eventful weekend and very successful, we had a great time seeing family.

7 Months

Bria is officially closer to being a one year old than to her newborn days, whoa. Here is what she is doing at 7 months old:
  • Eats a bowl of oatmeal and a container of applesauce for breakfast, then a vegetable and fruit later in the day. She nurses about every 3 or 4 hours
  • Wears 6-9 month clothes and size 3 diapers
  • Smiles a lot and has the cutest squeals of delight
  • Laughs when we tickle her or hold her upside down
  • Laughs everyday, she is such a happy baby
  • Starting to get more hair, although it's very blond so it's hard to see
  • Takes very short naps, sleeps through the night about 70% of the time
  • Still needs a boppy while sitting up, but doing really well
  • Loves her baths
  • Babbles all the time and has the cutest little whisper babble
  • Loves when I read to her, especially "Look At You"
  • Grabs at everything in site, and I do mean EVERYTHING, she is especially interested in our cell phones and has a cell phone of her own (one of our old ones)
  • Takes sips of water from her sippy cup each day
  • Started reaching for me :)
  • Loves my toes (I think because they have nail polish on them)
  • Won't sit still very long and wants to be entertained all day (doesn't like when you leave the room)
  • Loves going for walks and rides in the car
  • Smiles at strangers
This is just the best stage and she is such a fun little baby. On her 7 month birthday little Bria participated in Race for the Cure and she was such a trooper (she even got her own little shirt!). I put her in the little Snugglie front carrier and we did the whole 5k walk together. She slept for the first 15 minutes and then spent the rest of the time people watching-which is quite amusing in Portland, Oregon.

Brian and I also took advantage of Aunt Heather and Aunt Amy by spending an afternoon out sans Bria. We went shopping to find Brian a suit and ended up going to 3 different stores/malls (darn ;). We found him a really nice suit at Macy's and it was a steal of a deal. Then we went to the Cheesecake Factory and had some drinks and appetizers. After that we walked around the mall a little more and had fun at White House Black Market (cutest clothes ever). I tried on some really cute clothes and shoes that were way out of our price range-but that's why it was fun :) Dare to dream.
While Mom and Daddy were away Bria was apparently very good for her Aunts. She played, took a nap (I was so happy Heather was able to put her down because Bria can put up quite a fight), and drank a bottle. By the time we got home it felt like an eternity since I'd seen her and I thought for sure Heather would be tapping her foot and waiting for us to get back. It had only been 3 hours and both Amy and Heather said it went really fast. Phew! So it sounds like they'll be willing to watch her again, score.

During our 7 month photo shoot Bria spotted MJ and tried to dive off the chair for her.

"Mmm, this is a good ear. Hey wait, there's MJ."
"What is she doing down there?"
"Oh that MJ is too funny!"
"I must get down and pet her!"
This is where I stepped in and saved Bria from jumping off the chair to go see MJ. I thought it was adorable that she wanted to go see MJ, but I also wanted to get a good picture.

And here it is:

Happy 7 month little girl, your mommy and daddy love you more than you'll ever know!

Why so fussy?

First, a few pictures so start this post off right.

Grandma Renshaw got Bria a cute little pumpkin outfit.
It's safe to say she is the cutest pumpkin I've ever seen.

I never posted pictures of our boating trip last weekend. The weather was perfect and I'm so glad we got to go out on the boat one last time, it was just what the doctor ordered: vitamin D!
It was also Beaver game day so we were sporting our OSU pride.

Bria sampled a nectarine and was in heaven:
I lost the chance to win Mother of the Year award when I forgot Bria's hat. So I improvised and put her bathing suit bottoms on her head:
If anything it made for funny pics :)

Bria and I spent our days this week just hanging out and playing.

These are my favorite little PJ's on Bria:
Bria loves chewing on her books so I got her some plastic ones and she's been having a blast with them. It's probably a wise idea to invest in some more of those because they can keep her occupied for a few minutes, which is a long time for Bria these days :)

Bria loves her little monkey and smiles at him frequently:

Bria was being exceptionally crabby on Tuesday and I was at my wits end. Just then my Dad called and asked if he could stop by. I swear, God answered my prayers by sending my Dad, it was wonderful. He held Bria and she instantly stopped crying. He calmed her down and she was so happy to be in Grandpa's arms. The girls (my lil sister's) entertained her for a little while too and it was wonderful, thanks Abby and Cassidy! It was just the reprieve I needed.

Thanks again Dad, Bria loves her Grandpa!
I was making banana bread and mushed up some of the bananas and put them on Bria's high chair tray. She had fun playing with them but didn't get any in her mouth.
Fussy
This week Bria has been pretty fussy and I was losing my mind. After going nearly insane Bria and I headed to Jaime's to get out of the house and I was hoping the kids could entertain her so I could have a break. Jaidyn was so wonderful and kept her smiling and playing while Jaime and I talked. Bria is so lucky to have her cousins!
Well Jaime and I were talking and since she is a mother of 3 and very wise I listened intently. She suggested that my milk supply may have decreased and that may be why Bria has been so fussy. When she said that I started looking back (hind site is 20/20) and totally agreed with her. So then I went to some trusty friends for supply help (thanks Sniff, you're the best!) and the answer to my problem was pretty simple. Eat and drink more. That may sound obvious but while I was sick last week I ate hardly anything. When I finally started feeling better I never really went back to my normal eating and drinking habits so my milk supply suffered, which means Bria wasn't getting a full feeding. I feel awful that I wasn't giving her enough, but I also feel relieved that we figured it out and I'm able to fix it. I have also started pumping each night (I am lazy and rarely pump) and might go get some mother's milk tea to help increase my supply. Already though I'm noticing a difference and it's only been 2 days.

Yesterday Bria and I went to our first little playgroup with the Moms club I joined. It was at this Toy Factory and even though Bria wasn't old enough to play with the toys, she had fun watching the kids run around. Plus it was so nice to get out of the house and talk with other moms.
I of course had to dress Bria in a cute little outfit, and what better way to finish off a cute outfit than with cute shoes?
"Oooh, these are fun Mom"
Deer in headlights look:
I have so many adorable videos that I have been trying to upload for weeks. Blogger hates me and will NOT upload them. I've contacted support but haven't heard anything. I'll keep trying though, they are too cute not to share!

Proof

Here is proof of the love between MJ and Bria:

She likes smashing things into her face, I have no idea why:

"MJ, come back!"
MJ frequently takes advantage of Bria's inability to ward off licking, just as I suspected she would. It's cute though and it makes Bria smile which is a wonderful site. I think these 2 will be the best of friends and that makes my heart full.
Although Bria has fun rolling around on the ground, she definitely likes being held. Between her fewer naps, shorter naps, and love of being held, I don't get a lot done during the day. That's ok, who needs a clean toilet anyway? They are so overrated.

Things are going well, I was sick last week with what we think was a severe case of food poisoning. It was awful to say the least and Brian stayed home with me one day which I can't thank him enough for. I felt so bad for Bria because I would just lay there while she played. But we all survived and I'm glad that is over with.

So I have a lot of cleaning to catch up on this week and not a lot of time to do it. Fortunately I did a bunch of laundry today so I can mark that off my list of 100 things to do. 99 more to go. Awesome.

Between loads of laundry we managed to go out and do some shopping at Old Navy. We got Bria some cute summer clothes for next year, they were ridiculously on clearance and that is just my favorite kind of clearance. I got her a pair of shorts for $1.47! I seriously think I need to go back there tomorrow because I only got 4 things and at those prices I should've come home with a truck load. Brian didn't agree.

Looking forward to a week of not having food poisoning, and playing with my baby girl.

Game Day BABY!!!

Bria's first Beaver tailgator outside the womb, she was such a sport. It was a long day and she did really well, even though it was cold and rainy.
She has the cutest cheer outfit:

We're enjoying the rest of the weekend by relaxing and spending time with family.

Oh and I got my hair cut and colored and am loving short hair for the first time.
