One Word: AWESOME

Shopping on Saturday was a complete success, not only because we all got some great deals, but because we had an absolute blast. Well I guess I shouldn't speak for everyone, but I had such a good time. I left my house at 8 am and didn't get home until after 7 pm, I was one tired pregnant lady. But it was more than worth it. I loved spending time with my mom and sisters and Lanie, we had such a fun time talking and shopping and just hanging out. I got a few pairs of pants, some shirts, a sweater or two, and 2 pairs of shoes. 1 pair being the find of the century. All day we were looking for cute red flats and were not having much luck. But Nordstrom's came through for me and I was beyond thrilled. May I introduce to you the prettiest red shoe there ever was:

Sigh. I just love them, they are sooo comfortable which was numero uno priority for me. Plus they are just fantastic.
We were all beyond exhausted from the big shopping day, but we managed to stay awake on the drive home because we can't pass up an opportunity to talk :) I'm so grateful to my mom for taking me on the best shopping spree ever, I had an amazing time. And thanks to my sister's for taking the time out to help me pick out cute clothes. And one last thanks to Lanie for meeting us for lunch and then shopping with us afterwards, I think we wore her out in just 1 afternoon, we are tiring!

When I got home I showed Brian all my awesome purchases and then we frosted the cupcakes I had made for the pumpkin carving contest, sprinkled them with green sprinkles, and headed on our way. We were way late so we didn't carve our pumpkins or enter the contest, but we did socialize and eat which is just as fun. We went home and crashed that night, but not before Brian rubbed my feet which was awesome, they were killing me from all the walking.

Brian and I are both feeling better (we had the awful cold going around) so we've been going for lots of walks in the evening which I love, MJ does too. The weather is perfect right now so I want to take advantage of that. It may start raining on Friday, just in time for Halloween which is so typical of Oregon. Hopefully it holds off so the kiddos don't get soaked trick or treating. Although we are going to the Beaver game on Saturday so I don't want it to rain then either, and I'd like to spend time outside on Sunday so...really if it could just wait until after the Holidays that would be great.

Brian got his birthday present early, that's right, we are officially Mac owners. We borrowed the money from our credit card and will pay it off on Friday when I get paid. Why did we do that? Because Brian is impatient and we are going to be busy Saturday at the Beaver game. Lame excuses, but regardless, we have a working, functional computer and are thrilled. Brian had a lot of fun playing on it yesterday. He was able to do his homework a lot faster which is a huge plus. I think it'll take awhile to get use to, but we did ask the sales guy tons of questions so he helped orient us a little. Happy early birthday babe :)

Plans for this week include relaxing, relaxing, and relaxing. I'm looking forward to it.

Shopping Trip!

Saturday Plans
So my mom is taking me shopping tomorrow for maternity clothes and my wonderful, beautiful, sisters are able to join us and I am beyond thrilled. We also get to meet up with my cousin, Lanie, in Portland for lunch and hopefully she'll join us for more shopping afterwards :) I'm looking forward to girl time and hopefully getting some cute maternity outfits, my regular clothes just aren't cutting it.
While I'm off shopping Brian is so generously helping a co-worker scrap his popcorn ceilings, he loves doing that kind of stuff.
Tomorrow night is the annual Pumpkin Carving Contest at Tiff and Eric's and that's always a lot of fun. This is the 11th year I think of them doing it. Brian is going to do a snowman pumpkin and he's already started getting them ready-don't worry that is allowed, there really are no rules at the contest which is pretty nice. I think I'll just help Brian with his instead of doing my own and I'll be sure to take pictures and bring both my camera AND the battery :)

Halloween
I'm looking forward to Halloween, I even decorated the house up a bit to get in the spirit. We'll pass out candy for a little bit but then we are heading up to Salem to Nate and Amy's house. They are having a couples get together and we are to bring our dog all dressed up. We're going to put MJ's bumble bee costume on her that she wore last year, it still fits and looks adorable on her. Jenny and Kyle also got her this cute little shirt that says Trick or Treat so we'll bring that to put on her when she's tired of the bee costume :)
It will be fun to hang out with everyone since I feel like we don't see them very often.

My Weather Rant
The weather here as been unbelievably beautiful, just gorgeous. A little fog in the mornings to remind you it's fall, then blue sky, sunny, and in the low 60's. Great fall weather, I'm so thankful. Our summer took forever to come so I think now it's making up for that :)

The Taylor's
I realized since Chris and Brandi moved my posts don't contain pictures of my cute little man, probably because I'm so sad that I don't get to hold him and play with him :( But I do talk to Brandi still and she said things are going great in New York, Austin is growing like a weed of course, I couldn't believe it when she sent me these pictures, he is getting soooo big!

Hopefully Brandi and Chris don't mind me posting pictures of their little man, he's just too adorable not to share :) I am so glad they are doing well in New York, but man I miss them. I remember holding him and rubbing those tiny little feet, now look how big he's gotten, I can hardly believe it. It's a reminder that when Bria arrives she will also grow too fast for us, I think I'm starting to understand what parents mean when they always say, "They grow up so fast." Amazing that it took me until now to realize that simple phrase. I never claimed to be a rocket scientist.

Happy Friday everyone, I love the weekends!!

Weekend Fun!

So we had a great weekend and stayed pretty busy. Friday night we decided to go to Red Robin because we hadn't been out to dinner in awhile. On our way there Tiff calls me and says her, Eric, and little Maggie are on their way to Red Robin to eat and do we want to join them? I couldn't believe the coincidence and I said of course, we are on our way now!
We had a great time catching up with the Brown's and watching Maggie be adorable. Tiff kept saying how excited she is for us and how it'll be the best thing, I completely agree.
After dinner we went to our neighbor, Roxie's, birthday party and had a good time. The only other people we knew there were our neighbor's, Adi and Scott, so I was a little out of my comfort zone and wasn't able to have a glass of wine to relax, lol. But everyone was really nice and there was another pregnant girl there so we had lots in common to talk about. Brian had fun with the guys out in the garage playing games. Then karaoke came out and it was on. Even Brian joined the fun which was awesome, he was cracking everybody up, he's my class clown :) We had a great time and I'm glad I came out of my shell.

Saturday was Beaver game day! We spent time at the Bauer's tailgater which was of course a blast as always. This year though they have the Beaver bus, oh yeah. It's a short bus converted and personalized into a Beaver bus with custom seats and a flat screen TV, it doesn't get any better. Oh wait, yes it does. They also have a Beaver van that they transport all the food and stuff in while the people ride in the bus. So freakin' awesome. You may be asking, so where is a picture of these cool rides? Let me tell you a funny story:
I have been kicking myself for forgetting the camera when we go places so I made a mental note to NOT FORGET THE CAMERA. Did I forget the camera? Nope! I remembered and I was so proud. So when the moment was right I whipped the camera out for Amy to take a picture. I tried to turn it on before I handed it to her but I had gloves on so I thought she could turn it on. It wasn't working for her so Brian tried. What was wrong, why wasn't the camera turning on? Was it low on batteries? Nope, I just charged it....oh crap. The battery was sitting safely in the charger on the kitchen counter. Son of a gun. So every few minutes that whole day I would sigh and get made at myself for being so forgetful. Ugh, I was so mad. We snapped 2 quick ones with my phone but I didn't think the quality was very good so I didn't bother taking more. Although looking at them now they aren't half bad, just the lighting sucks.

I love our matching jerseys :) My dad and Anna have the same ones!

We also spent time at the Tegner's tailgater which was really fun. Kyle's mom, Cindie, wasn't able to go to the game so she gave us her ticket! Then one of the Bauer's friends gave us hers as well so we were set, wahoo! We had so much fun at all the tailgaters and the game as well, plus we creamed WSU, 66-13.

Sunday we finished the stripes on the nursery so the painting is complete! Dad and Anna helped us which was really sweet of them (for pictures see baby blog). Brian also mowed and winterized the lawn, then we spent the rest of the day relaxing and resting from our busy weekend.

Um, have I mentioned that the Twilight movie comes out on November 21st? I am so excited I can barely stand it, every time I see a trailer for it I squeal. Seriously, if you have not read the Twilight series by Stephenie Meyer you are missing out and I am sad for you.

It's not news that Brian and I need a new computer, our trusty labtop is just on it's last leg. It is slower than dial up and can't handle all the fancy websites (one being Brian's school homepage). So we were going to get a new Mac as a Christmas present, but I can't do that to Brian. He is trying to do homework and it takes him hours to do a few things, poor guy. We bumped up the purchase date for the new computer to his birthday, November 7th. Just one more month and we'll be in the 21st century, yay! So half of my paycheck will go to student loans and half will go to the new computer, not horrible. We are still set to pay off my student loans before Bria comes. I am really excited about getting a new computer, although it's going to be hard to get use to a Mac. I love all my shortcut keystrokes and Mac's are completely different, but I want to be adaptable to change so I'll just learn as I go.

Lance is doing pretty good, he is homesick but they keep them pretty busy during the week there. I can't wait to see him in December.

I'm enjoying life in my new cubicle ;) My feet are always warm and I know what the weather is at all times. Right now it is sunny and in the high 50's to low 60's, perfect fall day. I think I need to go refill my hot chocolate cup. Mmmm.

Tagged-7 Random Things

1. I am compulsive about checking my zipper after I use the restroom, I usually check it about 3 times before I even leave the bathroom.

2. My right shoulder is double jointed so I can bend it in half in a scary way. I use to sleep like that and I would wake up to a loud POP coming from my shoulder, I don't think that was a good thing.

3. I have donated my hair to Lox of Love twice. I plan to do it more in my lifetime.

4. I can eat cereal and toast for every meal. Since I've been pregnant that has been my usual dinner and I love it.

5. I drink milk for every meal (except lunches during the week while I'm at work), so does Brian. Needless to say we go through about 6 gallons in a week, just the 2 of us. We are going to need another fridge as our family grows!

6. I am rigid when it comes to finances. For example: since I first started a bank account, I never touched savings, I rarely even think of it as my money, it's just the savings. Another example: I have a certain amount I can spend each week and I don't go over, no if, and's, or but's about it.

7. I thrive on organization, but I suck at actually organizing. I get really overwhelmed with where to start so I recruit my mom and sister's to help. Once I'm organized I'm good at maintaining it, I just have trouble setting up organization.

I invite all who want to do this to do it, it's fun to think of 7 things that are normal to you, but random to everyone else :)

This and That

The weekend was great, I love weekends. We were able to relax, be productive, and see friends and family all in one weekend.

Friday night I went and saw my friend Shauna and her adorable little 6 month old, Aria. Aria has the most precious smile and gorgeous light brown eyes with dark eye lashes, she's going to love those when she gets older! Shauna and I have good cheerleading memories together from OSU. We also did the Trail Blazer stunt team together for a year, good times. At OSU Shauna, Ashley, and I hung out a lot and I smile thinking back to some of our crazy days together. Anyway, it was good catching up with her.

Saturday we ran baby errands and did stuff in the nursery which of course I loved. Then we grabbed some pizza from our favorite, Pizza Pipeline, and went to Sara's house (Brian's twin) to watch the Ducks lose while playing Beaveropoly (Monopoly with a beaver spin on it). Brian won Beaveropoly but only because he negotiates his A$$ off. Seriously, we can't just play a normal game of Beaveropoly, he brings in negotiating tactics and mind games like you wouldn't believe, I think he needs to be a salesman.
Then we headed to our friend Dave's house (also a former OSU cheerleader) and he has a little 11 month old, Scarlet, who is just adorable. Blond hair blue eyes and loves to smile. We caught up on his life and just talked and talked until it was Scarlet's bedtime.

Back to the work week and I am looking forward to the next weekend, it's what gets me through the week.
My exciting news for work is that I switched cubicles to one by the window :) We rearranged at work so the accounting department is together since we were all spread out. I totally lucked out and got a window seat, yay me. Now I can daydream even more, lol. Oh, and I finally got a heated foot pedal too, man does it feel good! I realize that my exciting news is lame, but hey, it's the little things that matter :)

Baby Holcomb is a...

check out the baby blog if you haven't, the sex of baby Holcomb is revealed!

Things are going well here at the Holcomb's. Brian was in Bend for a few days working, I'm glad he's back now. I'm getting braver about staying alone, but it is still a little unsettling.

So I am thrilled that it's almost the weekend, this week has just been crazy at work plus Brian was gone, I'm ready for a few days off. Although I can't complain too much because we took yesterday off for the big ultrasound and then went to register-it was just the day we needed, well it was at least the day I needed.

We had a great time last weekend spending time with my sister's and their husbands. We ended up just staying at Jaime and Schuyler's after we BBQ'd because the bowling alley was being occupied by a corporate party. It didn't matter what we did, we have a good time together. The guys ended up in the tv room while Jaime, Jenny and I chatted. Eventually we all sat in the tv room together and laughed about past events, good times.

The rain is officially here, it is true Oregon weather. I'm not sick of it yet, but talk to me in a few weeks when the rain and gray clouds won't leave. Right now it just makes me want to curl up on the couch in my pj's with a nice cup of hot chocolate and a movie. Hmmm, maybe I'll do that tonight :)
