From goofy to conniption fit

We had some visitors this weekend and it was so much fun. Our friends Erin, Jimmy, and their little boy Gabe (who turns 2 in August) stayed with us Saturday and we all went to downtown Portland for the Floral parade. Bria has never been to a parade and we kind of assumed she wouldn't be too thrilled about it but she LOVED it. In fact, after an hour or so we decided to walk down to the river front where the Saturday market was going on and wanted to go back to the parade to, "See more cheerleading!" We're raising her right ;)

"Um Gabe, you're cramping my style."

Our little monkeys

Erin is 15 weeks pregnant, just 10 weeks behind me, so fun!

It was cloudy in the morning but then the sun came out and it was glorious. Still wasn't too hot, just a perfect temperature.
We walked a lot, fortunately we brought the umbrella stroller and Bria was happy to be in it which is a far cry from a few months ago, I'm glad she's come around.

Taking in all the crazy parade people.

Love that I caught Gabe in mid-air!

Running all over the place

Looking at all the boats (pregnant fat face is here, grrr)

We stayed downtown for almost 4 hours and Bria did so well, I was ecstatic. She was content and happy and amused by everything. Around nap time she started getting incredibly silly and on our train ride home (we took the Max to avoid traffic and parking, best idea ever) she got even crazier. We know she's tired when she gets so so goofy and doesn't listen to a word we are saying.

And then every few minutes she zones out.

She wanted to cuddle on Daddy's lap like a baby. We were hoping she'd take a little snoozer but she continued to be incredibly goofy right up until bedtime.

Here's a little video of her enjoying the parade, she loved the music.

We continued to wear the kids out when we got home, since it was too late for naps we knew we had to keep them busy other wise they would reach a level of cranky that no one wanted to deal with. So we walked to the park then came back and let them splash in the baby swimming pool. Bria was still in such a great mood, even when it started to get cold outside and she was sopping wet in her swim suit, she just kept swimming.
And then of course at bedtime she had a conniption fit. Like SCREAMING so loud, I don't think she has ever screamed so much in her entire life. I couldn't believe my eyes or ears, I thought my daughter was possessed. Fortunately she fell asleep quickly and slept for over 12 hours, waking up her normal happy self, phew.

Now it's time to start the week. Bria spoiled me last week by waking up later than 7:30 am every morning, it was fabulous. I got up by 7 am every morning (some days earlier) and drank my decaf coffee, surfed the internet, got ready for the day, and even cleaned some mornings. Obviously I didn't do all that every morning, but some of it. She even slept in until 8:45 am on Saturday! But this morning at 6:30 am Bria decided she had slept long enough and spoiled me long enough :( I'm hoping it's a one time thing...I'm not in denial or anything.

Hotness

This was Sunday after we got home from our busy weekend. And it's not staged, Brian is seriously sleeping (with a pile of toys courtesy of Bria).

Brian has been busy the last few weeks building this awesome trellis for his Dad for father's day. Don't worry, I'm not ruining the surprise. We already gave it to his Dad, Brian is not good at waiting to give gifts, plus we'll be in Shasta on Father's day. It turned out AMAZING.
Even custom with an "H" in the middle.
I'm really proud of him, he did a phenomenal job and made it look easy.

It hit 80 degrees on Saturday so I was thrilled we had lots of plans outdoors. First our friends birthday party for their little girl, Maggie, who turned 3. Then Jenny's graduation party. So we spent all day outdoors and absolutely loved it.
They had a slip 'n slide at Maggie's party and Bria was in heaven. She of course ran through and fell in it before we put her swim suit on. But that's why I brought extra clothes :)

I'm, too sexy for my suit...

And of course they had a baby pool that Bria was in love with. We seriously have a water baby, this girl LOVES water.

This week is back to cloudy, although starting today the sun has finally joined us and while Bria is napping I've been sitting outside reading, heavenly.

The Graduation Party

The Graduate!!!

My awesomely dedicated and talented sister graduates from Dental Hygiene school this week and we are so incredibly proud of her. She worked so hard, stayed focused, got rockin' grades, and cleaned tons of mouths to get where she is and I am just so in awe of everything she accomplished.
Kyle threw her a kick ace party on Saturday and he should get an award for it, he went all out. The party was fabulous and we all had a blast celebrating Jenny's accomplishment.

Lance and I laugh a lot, that's what brothers are for. Who knows what we're laughing about in this picture, probably some Tommy Boy line ;)

Kyle and Jenny enjoying their party in their gorgeous back yard.

Dad and Anna chillin'

Jaime and Schuyler

Mom and Randy with 2 of their grandkids (Bria went to bed shortly after this ;)

Lance and Kayla, or should I say Lance and his fiance Kayla :) Yes, I should.

The wonderful hubby, me, and baby girl

"Are you taking a picture of me?"

Porter loved helping Kyle behind the bar, so cute.

Bria having Daddy wipe the dirt off her feet.

When she throws a ball she puts her back into it.

Belly and me

Amazing, right?

It was family and close friends and we could've stayed all night talking. It was so much fun and it's always nice to be with family. Fortunately we stayed the night there so we were able to put Bria to bed upstairs and still party with everyone.
Bria had a blast with her cousins and aunts and uncles. She got a little freaked out by their dog Rogue and I regret not being totally patient with her about it, her scream was hitting a nerve. But fortunately the next morning she handled him way better and she was laughing at his adorable puppy ways. When I say puppy, I mean a 40 pound puppy :)
The party was catered by a delicious local pub called Block 15 and it was yummy. Kyle was the bartender of the night and although I can't personally attest to his awesome drinks, I heard they were amazing.
So congrats Jenny, I love you and I'm so proud of you!!

Well I just got pampered

and it was fabulous. Heather called me up last week and asked if I wanted to get a pedicure with her and Tracy. Is the Pope Catholic?
Seriously, this pregnant Mom was in desperate need of a foot pampering and a foot pampering I got. Since Brian was in Arizona for work little Miss Bria got her first pedicure too :)

Relaxin' with our feet in the tub

She had a death grip on the pink nail polish that she picked out, seriously, she wouldn't let it out of her grasp.

So happy her feet are taking a bath :)

Bria did really well considering we were there for an hour and a half. She sat on my lap for awhile, than Heather's while she watched Toy Story (smart Heather reminded me to bring our portable DVD player in) then back on my lap. Raisins and gold fish crackers were also part of the bribery.

She was so excited when it was finally her turn to get her toes done.

And the incredibly sweet woman painted an adorable little flower on her big toes, sooo cute!
Not only that but Bria's little pedicure was on the house, definitely going back there! They were really nice and it felt wonderful to get a pedicure.

Adorable.

Mine aren't as cute as Bria's but they sure sparkle :)

So yeah, it was a really nice evening and I'm grateful to have a sister-in-law that invites me on such wonderful evenings out.

We had a fabulous weekend that I'll post about a little later. It involved lots of sun, lots of friends and family, and lots of celebrations :)

Black Butte Baby

So we went to Black Butte for Memorial Day weekend and had a lot of fun. Brian's mom got a condo and we all (Marna & Terry, Heather & Tracy, and us 3) headed over. Much fun was had by all and we stayed pretty busy with things to do.

Here's a recap in bullets & pictures:

  • First and foremost, Heather captured my new fav picture of Bria. Sigh.
  • Bria did pretty well on the drive there, especially considering it's 3 hours, but no worries, we came equipped with movies and a Jessie doll, which she was thrilled to pieces about.

  • Saturday afternoon it hailed so we sat inside watching and looking at the beautiful view
  • Then we suited up and went for a dip in the indoor pool (which by the way could have been a little warmer)
  • Bria was in heaven and swam her heart out

  • The outdoor pool was heated too so after the hail passed we went out there (that water could've been warmer too, just sayin')
  • Bria loved her goggles
  • And riding on daddys back
  • After Bria went to bed we played games and many inside jokes were born

  • Sunday we went on a hike with Heather and Tracy while Grammy and Terry watched Bria, everyone had a blast.
  • After naps we blew bubbles and flew kites

  • Bria told Grammy, "Grammy, you blow tiny bubbles." We all got a good laugh.
  • The TinkerBell kite was a huge success, Brian and I enjoyed it as much as Bria
  • Bria was very lovey all weekend and that was wonderful

Group hug!

Bria did really well. We put her in the pack 'n play in our room, that thing is so darn loud and she's too big for it so every time she moved it woke me up. The second night I got smart and put ear plugs in. I'm not sure where to put Bria when we go places now, the pack 'n play is okay but she really is too big for it.
Anyway, we had a great time in Black Butte and many memories were made :)
