I'm a brunette
Well I had a hair appointment on Tuesday and I planned on going darker and getting lots of layers. The past two appointments we've been gradually weaving in dark, but it just hasn't been dark enough. In fact after my last hair appointment (December) Brian thought it looked lighter. So I told Shannon (my hair dresser) I want it DARK and she looked at me and said, "Lindsey, do you want to do an all over color instead of weave?" And the rest is history. I am an official brunette, dark brunette. It's quite shocking actually. My goal was to go closer to my natural so that it's lower maintenance and less money. I really like it and welcome the change. I am going to leave you all in suspense because I haven't taken a picture of it yet, I tried last night but they were horrible and there was no way I was going to post them! I probably sound vain, but seriously they were bad and you couldn't really see my hair so I just gave up.
Weather
In other news...........well there really is no other news. Saturday is my nephew, Porter's 3rd birthday and we are going over to my sister's for a BBQ. I love the kids' birthdays because they are always so excited, especially when you sing them Happy Birthday. I can't wait!
I am dying for Spring/Summer to get here. The past few weeks we have been having beautiful weather, the sunny shining and skies a cloudless blue. But this weekend it all comes crashing to an end as rain is predicted, it was too good to be true. Spring in Oregon usually consists of rain so that is why I am looking forward to Summer more than the Spring.
Food
It's been good having Lance with us, he's pretty low key so it's not a drastic change. I never thought I would say this about Lance, but it's refreshing that he is not such a picky eater. Now, growing up there was very little my Mom could get Lance to eat. But compared to Brian, no one is a picky eater! You wouldn't guess this by Brian's size, he's 6'2 and 240 pounds, but there are only a handful of things I can get him to eat and it drives me crazy. I am thinking of getting the Deceptively Delicious cookbook and "hiding" nutritious foods in the things he will eat.
Alright, back to work for me!

Nissan Murano
Saturday morning we decided to go out to breakfast and on the way home saw the Nissan dealership so I told Brian I wanted to test drive the Murano. ~Background: Brian and I have been interested in the Murano for a few months and awhile back he test drove one while I was at work. He loved it and has wanted to me to test drive one as well. ~ Back to Saturday: So we pulled in and test drove the 2009 Nissan Murano. I loved it. It had power, it handled well, and it was luxurious. We even got roped in to sitting inside with the salesman while he ran numbers and all that stuff. We did not purchase it, that is not in our debt plan. But in a year or so when we are ready to trade in the bug and have saved up, I think we'll be purchasing the Nissan Murano.
To our future crossover:
We are so excited to finally purchase a big kid car. Please be good to us and not have mechanical problems within the first couple of years, and in return I'll keep you clean. Please keep us safe as I've heard you are good at, and in return I'll make sure Brian doesn't drive you as often. ;-)
Thank you,
Your future owners

Sunriver
We had a great weekend with our friends in Sunriver. There ended up being 4 couples that went: Brian and myself, Nate and Amy, Marcus and Gretchen, and Jeff and Caitlyn. We cheered with Jeff at OSU, he's been in Hawaii the past few years getting his masters and cheering. He met his girlfriend there and now they live in Portland. Anyway, we had a good time with everyone. Friday we rode over with Nate and Amy and took all day to get there even though it's about a 3 1/2 hour trip, but we stopped to go sledding, grocery shopping, and a little clothes shopping as well. Brian and I both picked up some nice Columbia jackets for a steal of a price!
We spent the days either at Mt. Bachelor or walking around the resort we stayed at which is beautiful. Nate's parents own a cabin that they let us stay at which we appreciate to no end. The nights were spent making and eating dinner, playing games, and watching TV. The weather was absolutely perfect, blue sky and pretty warm considering there was about 10 feet of snow on the ground, or rather ice.
Lance moved in on Sunday while we were away and watched MJ until we got home Monday afternoon. For now we're just trying to help Lance find a job he can do while he's going to school.
Back to Work
Tuesday was back to reality and back to work. But that evening we got to go over and hold baby Austin! Yep, they got to bring him home last Thursday!!! I know they are thrilled to be in the comfort of their own home now, and they still have their moms to help which is nice. I didn't bring my camera because I thought it was too soon to go over and start snapping pictures of him, but I will next time :) He is so precious, I could watch his little facial expressions all day. My favorite is his little pout, he has the most kissable little lips, so precious.
Brian
Brian has been spending a lot of time doing homework and working. Somehow he worked the graveyard shift Wednesday morning, went to a meeting in Roseburg during the day, and then had to work the graveyard shift this morning. Sounds crazy to me but he doesn't complain at all. When I ask him how he can do that he always says it's because he is part owner in the company and he cares, hmmm. Anyway, I hope to get my husband back soon, but right now he needs to do homework and be at UPS so I'm trying to be understanding and supportive. To all you wives who have workaholic husbands, how do you do it?!
Parking
The exciting news for this week is that I don't have to ride the parking ride all week! One of the assistant directors who has a parking space underground is on vacation so I got to take his spot while he's gone. Yep, that's right, getting a parking space is exciting enough to blog about. Hey, I got to sleep in 15 minutes longer and that is wonderful!
Pictures:
First I had a few pictures I never got to post from our snow day with the Taylors:

Finally some pictures
This is my favorite picture of the little man. Chris and Brandi graduated form West Virginia University and here is Austin sporting his WVU socks and beanie, such a cutie!
Here is proud Dad in awe of his boy.
Chris and I not long after Austin was born
Here are the feet I love so much!
Brandi also sent me some pictures from our snow day. Since we don't get much snow we took advantage and had a lot of fun. It's been quite a while since I built a snowman and had a snowball fight, good times.
We have to have a stunt one of course
Sunday I spent cleaning, doing laundry, and preparing our guest room for it's newest tenant: Lance Armstrong. Yep, you read that right, Lance Armstrong. It may not be the Lance Armstrong you are thinking of, but my brother is pretty cool so you should still be amazed :-)
Now I need to get us packed for our fun trip to Sunriver this weekend. We are heading out Friday morning and returning Monday. Sara is going to stay at our house and watch MJ for us, thanks again Aunt Sara, you're a life saver!

Blurbs
Weekend:
- Busy but good
- Friday had pizza and watched tv-it was wonderful
- Celebrated Brian's Dad's birthday on Saturday by going to McCormick and Schmick's-delicious!
- Went to Nate and Amy's for Superbowl on Sunday-good food, good drinks, good company.
Things on my mind:
- Babies, babies, and babies.
- Paying off debt-we are so close! Once we get our taxes back and apply that to the credit card, we will be able to pay it off in 2 months! I am beyond ecstatic.
- How important it is to choose a career that you are passionate about, you spend a majority of your time working so you might as well enjoy it.
- Twilight-I just miss Edward and Bella, how crazy am I?!
- Babies, babies, and babies.
To do:
- Organize my house, it is driving me crazy. I feel out of control right now because so many things don't have their "place." All the closets need serious help.
- Order pictures so I can update pictures in our house and at my office.
- Empty our camera memory card onto a cd so I can delete the photos.
- Make a grocery list and go shopping.
- Clean.
I am excited it is February. April will be here in 2 months and that is when we will be paying off the credit card which will be a liberating feeling. I am also looking forward to May when we will be getting our Federal refund, guess where that is going? Towards my student loans. The whole reason of that refund is to help kick start the economy and what do we do? Apply it towards debt :-)
We talked to Chris and got an update on baby Austin:
He is doing really well and they were able to take the IV out. He has gained weight, after losing a little in the beginning. The last hurdle is feeding, he needs to be able to feed on his own. Brandi is doing well and rarely leaves his side, totally understandable. I am really hoping Brian and I can make it down to Eugene this week to see him. He has a lot of homework and I don't want to take him away from that, but I am dying without being able to hold little Austin!
