At home

Well, it's my 3rd day staying at home and I can honestly say I like it. Although I have to admit it's a bit more unsettling than I thought it was going to be, I mean I've had a job for so long it feels weird to just be at home. I guess I just pictured Bria being here to keep me busy :)
So far I have done laundry, gone grocery shopping, taken naps, gone out to lunch, cleaned, filed, drove to the fire station for a car seat installation demo, and walked. I don't have a ton more to clean and organize so let's hope Bria comes soon.

Brian has had very long days at work this week and doesn't get home until after 7 pm :( He's pretty tired so I'm hoping soon his days become a little shorter. Long work days and homework make for a very exhausted Brian, although he still is a good sport and doesn't complain. It would just be nice to spend more time together.

I know that is a short update but there is not a lot going on here besides praying for Bria to make her debut, please feel free to join in those prayers!

Puzzles

So a few weeks ago we went to the hospital to meet with the maternity care coordinator. We were extra early because we don't like being late (hear that Bria!) so we sat down in the lobby and started working on the puzzle they had there. This is where I learned something new about Brian. We've known each other for 8 years so I assumed I knew all his likes and dislikes, but apparently not. He loves puzzles, loves them. How did I not know this? Anyway, we had a lot of fun putting together the puzzle and decided we needed to go get our own to work on at home. And we did just that.

Here is the picture of the puzzle on the box, it was a thousand piece puzzle:We finished it in 2 days, it was pretty much our Friday night and Saturday one weekend:
We seriously had so much fun putting it together, who knew $3.99 could bring us so much entertainment? We just purchased another thousand piece puzzle and then I think we'll move up to the 1500 piece ones. You may think we are dorky, but we are dorks who have fun.

A reason to celebrate

We finished paying off my student loans! That's right, I do not owe any more money to those who helped fund my college experience. It's a wonderful feeling.
Don't be too jealous though, we still have Brian's student loans to pay off, and that is our Mt. Everest. Although we think we may have solved our little problem with his master's tuition. Chase accepted his application for a student loan! It is a 7% interest which is no where near as good as his 2% interest on his other student loans. But it'll be a small amount in the scheme of things and it allows him to continue getting his master's.
So all and all we are hanging in there and feel truly grateful for a solution to our stress.

It's Valentine's this weekend and to celebrate Brian offered to take me to a movie: Confessions of a Shopaholic. Is he not the best? I read all the books and loved them so I was so excited when they made it into a movie. Brian does have to work a little bit that day, but we'll still have the evening. Other than a movie we'll probably just hang out, go for some walks :)

And because I have lacked taking pictures I'm posting a random one. It is from the day after my baby shower and Brian is putting together the swing that Heather and Amy got us, we absolutely love it! Would you believe I forgot to take a picture of the completed swing? I'll do that ASAP.

Such a cute Dad:

This is what the swing looks like, we absolutely LOVE it!

I love the colors, they are calming and blend well in the living room. Plus, a huge bonus is that it matches the bouncer we have :) It swings from side to side, and then you can turn it and it swings back and forth. It's just perfect and I know Bria will love it.

This and That

What have we been up to lately? Let's see...

  • Brian got a new boss on Monday and things are going well
  • I have had a very good week at work and I'm thankful for that
  • Brian's class is going well, he has a midterm due on Sunday
  • I only have 1 week left at work, OH. MY. GOSH. !!!
  • Brian started to feel flu like symptoms on Tuesday and now we are wondering if it's salmonella poisoning, that would suck
  • We have gone to bed early the last 2 nights and I feel wonderful, I love sleep
  • Superbowl Sunday was really fun, we went to my Dad's with the family and ate the best food ever
  • The weather has been unbelievably gorgeous, but it's suppose to start raining today :(
  • We're ready to have a baby!

So yeah, that's about it for us lately. I am looking forward to a low-key weekend since we were busy last weekend. I want to clean and organize all weekend...and take baths. Oh, and I'm getting a pedicure on Saturday thanks to my Mom, I can't wait!
