Social butterfly and backyard camping!

One of the first questions that Bria asks in the morning is who we are going to see and where are we going to go.
She's made so many good friends up here and I think she really enjoys it. Playing dress up is one of her favorite things to do, fortunately all her friends have dress up clothes :)

Bria and Kenzie

Caiden gettin' some love from the ladies...I love Sophie's face, she's saying "Easy ladies, that's my brother!"
Last Saturday night Bria had a sleepover and camp out. Brian was super excited. He decided he really wanted to camp out with Bria in the backyard and invited his co-worker, Bruce, and his son Liam. Now, Liam and Bria absolutely adore each other. We've gotten together for playdates with them and Bria just LOVES him. Seriously.
She talks about how she is going to marry him and just today I had the following conversation with her:

Bria: "I want to go to the store that Grammy goes to when she sings and I want to go there with Liam.
Me: ? "Wha?"
Bria: "Where we sing, I want to go there with Liam!"
Me: (channeling my psychic mom powers) "Oh, you want to go to Grammy's church with Liam?"
Bria: "YEAH!!"

I love that she wants to take him to church :)

Anyway, back to the camp out. So Bruce and Liam packed their stuff and came over. Unfortunately Brian and Bria were at the store when they arrived, but 2 minutes later they came home and when Bria saw Liam she ran as fast as she could and clothes lined him to the ground.
We all thought she was going in for a hug, including Liam, but she tackled him to the ground in pure happiness. It was hilarious to say the least.
They played in the pool out back where I saw Bria lean her head on his and tell him, "Liam, I want to marry you." His reply? Embarrassed giggle.
Yeah, it was the cutest thing ever.
After dinner, dessert, pool time and running around like crazy kids, they settled in for a movie. Or 3. No, they did not watch 3 movies from start to finish. They watched about 20 minutes of each. Fickle kiddos couldn't make their minds up.

Snuggled in their sleeping bags for a movie

It was 9:30 at this point and although I normally would freak out (okay, so maybe internally I was freaking a little), Bria was having a blast and so was Brian. Finally they went and set up the tents and we got everything ready. The kiddos each took a flashlight out and got into their tents with their Dads, despite their requests to sleep together in the same tent.
The Dads' plan was to sit outside the tents and chat while the kids slept, but Liam was a little homesick, so they put him in the tent with Bria and he was out. Bria? Oh she was in heaven, she was crawling on him, talking to him and just being goofy. Liam slept through all of it.
I know, I'm jealous too.
Before nodding off to sleep Bria asked Brian if they could build a fire. He told her it was too late (plus, we don't even have a fire pit, but ya know, minor detail) and she said, "Dad, we are camping and you said we could build a fire." Love that girl. He convinced her they would do it next time.
I guess we will be getting a fire pit or something.
Then, she finally fell asleep.
And Brian took this picture.

Are you kidding me?! That is ADORABLE!!! My little mother hen is comforting him and I just love it. She is such a cuddler.
The Dad's ordered Dominos apparently, and had the guy deliver it over the fence. I'm not even joking. I was laughing when I saw the pizza boxes the next morning.
Bria woke up at 5 am to what was probably a nightmare and Brian couldn't get her to calm down so he finally put her in her own bed where she slept until 9 am.
Brian can't wait to do another Daddy/Daughter camp out, with both his girls :)

All over the place

Having two girls is pretty fun. They feed off each other, when one screams, the other screams louder. Brian loves it ;) There are times each day where they get along so well and I cherish those moments. I'm pretty sure it only gets harder to make them get along so I'm enjoying it while I can. Don't get the wrong idea, they don't always play happily together. Bria can get very annoyed with her little sister and Reese can pull Bria's hair like no other, but they still love to laugh and scream together and that makes me happy.
Well maybe the screaming isn't super cool, but I do like that they are happy.

Let's chat for a minute about Reese. She is busy. No seriously, the girl is nonstop, go go go. Bria was not like this at all. We didn't have to baby proof our house, she didn't ever crawl far enough away from us to even get into trouble.
Reese, oh she is a different story.
She is all over the place and she is fast. She heads for the stairs and climbs, stopping occasionally to chill on the edge of a stair. Don't worry, I'm right there with her to prevent her from tumbling down the stairs head first. And we now have a gate at the top of the stairs.
Since the moment Reese figured out the army crawl, she hasn't wanted to sit still. Reading to her is not exactly a Hallmark moment, she squirms and either tries to rip the pages or eat the book. She could spend all day long holding onto my fingers and walking around...my back does not agree with this. She wants to explore everything and is such a curious little thing.

Not happy about having to sit still for 2 seconds so I can take a picture

Trying to grab the camera

However, although she may be incredibly busy at all times and rather exhausting, she is the BEST cuddler ever. She loves to give hugs and is so good at them. She will lay her head down on your shoulder and grab on tight with both arms, it's the absolute sweetest thing. I guess she gets tired from being so busy that she wants to stop and cuddle, I think I can handle that ;)

A new baby!

Jenny and Kyle had their baby!!! She had him Sunday early morning so when we woke up we drove down and could not wait to hold that sweet little thing. First we went to my Mom's to drop the girls off.

Getting them all set up outside :)

I LOVE putting them in matching outfits

My handsome man and me
Once the girls were settled and we got the go ahead from the new parents, we headed to the hospital. We picked up some Taco Bell for Jenny on the way, per her request :)
We walked in and I didn't know who to hug first, the new parents or the sweet baby boy! He was nursing so I chose to hug the parents first :) Once I got my hands on him I didn't want to let him go.
Check out that hair!!! He has a ton, and it was all stylin' in a mohawk
Jax Wesley Tegner, 7 lbs 10 oz, loads of hair.
Precious.
Look how he's adoring his Aunt Lulu ;)
Uncle Lance came to see his nephew too. Lance said Jax gave him hope that he too could have a boy. Before Jax, Lance was convinced he would have all girls since that is the trend in our family.

I believe when Brian held him he said, "Maybe we should have another one."
My uterus twitched a little but my mind said, "Heck to the no, I want sleep!"

Seriously, he is so handsome!

I miss him already

I'm so proud of my sister, I hear she did awesome.
So that's what we did this weekend, it was fabulous!

!!!!!!

 THE SUN HAS ARRIVED!!!
Thank you to those who sent us sunny and warm weather, we are very grateful. Yesterday we suited up in summer clothes and headed to the park to play in the fountains with our friends.
Reese observing the crazy kids running in the fountains

Bennett and Bria filling up the water squirter

Bria ran around the whole time so I had to be quick to capture a picture of her!

Our awesome friends: Dusty with Wes on his lap, Amanda with Reese, and sweet Bennett

Weston holding Reese :)

Lap full of babies!
I can't tell you how exciting it was to put sunscreen on and bask in the warmth of the sun. I was in heaven. The only thing that would've made it better is if Brian didn't have to work.
Having a snack

Strawberries are delicious

Weston was such a good big brother to Reese...I think it's baby love ;)
I'm looking forward to a gazillion more days at the park spent with friends this summer.

America rocks!

I love the 4th of July. It represents America's freedom. It represents that summer has arrived in Oregon. It's all very happy stuff.
I use to love the fireworks too. Now?
Well, now I have two little kids. And I really wish my neighbors would stop setting off illegal fireworks because they are so loud our house is shaking.
But I'm sure I'll be singing a different tune in a few years.
Either way, I still love the fourth.

We had my little sister, Cassidy, come up and stay with us for a couple days. The girls love having her and so do Brian and I, she is a huge help. It's fun to spend some sister time with her like painting her nails, going grocery shopping (I don't think she thought that was very fun, but ya know ;), and did her hair. I also love seeing her with my girls and I know Bria adores her and wants to drag her around everywhere. Cassidy would carry Reese around all day if I let her, she never wanted to put her down!

Reese and Cassidy
As you can tell from the photos, Reese is suffering from adorable red cheeked syndrome, also known as eczema + teething. Apparently a tooth (or 4) should be popping through soon since her cheeks are red. This is according to google, so ya know, it's solid facts.
My girls with their Aunt Cassidy

Today for the fourth we went to Brian's Dad's house. We had a BBQ, chatted about wine, played outside, and had a good time.
Reese was a ham as usual
And to help explain the following picture (the one where Bria is holding a nude colored fuzzy thing) I must tell you how obsessed Bria is with Rapunzel. The girl wants long, blond hair and talks about it all the time.
All day long.
All day.
Anyway. I have a robe with a tie thingy (official name for sure) and she has now taken that tie thingy and permanently named it her Rapunzel hair. So every morning I have to put it in her hair so it can drag behind her. Fortunately she let's me take it off before we go anywhere. But seriously, it's getting ridiculous.
Aunt Heather with her girls
And then she found one of Grandma Kathie's scarves and decided it was the perfect Rapunzel hair. Grandma Kathie was nice enough to send it home with her.
So now I can have my tie thingy back and close my robe...I'm sure my neighbors are grateful. ;)

The early bird gets the worm...

...and then is tired for the rest of the day because it's silly to wake up early for a worm since worms are gross.
I love taking sleeping pictures, she looks so peaceful
Last week we finally had a nice hot day so during Reese's morning nap Bria and I sat outside and drank our "coffee" which I think is the highlight of both our days. Especially since our girls have decided to wake up at the butt crack of dawn.
I know the saying is that the early bird gets the worm, but I don't want the worm. I want sleep.
My girls use to agree, they would sleep until 7:30, 8, sometimes even 8:30 am, it was awesome.
Then they had a chat with each other and decided they had been spoiling us long enough.
6 am.
6 AM!!
Eeesh. It's been about 2 weeks and I keep hoping that they will go back to sleeping in, but every morning I here Bria go potty and then come into our room and announce she is hungry. Then 3.4 seconds later Reese starts yelling for me to come get her and before I know it my day has already started.
So yeah, me and coffee are best friends ;)
The hard thing is Bria needs more sleep, she is cranky and hard to entertain. Really hoping this little phase passes soon.
I loved this little outfit, perfect summer outfit. I'm slightly obsessed with her new Jellies :)

Freeze (the only way I could get her to stay still for a picture was say freeze!)
We had a garage sale the other weekend and it was absolutely horrible weather. We still sold a few things which was good and cleaned out our garage which was even better.
Reese playing in the garage while we cleaned
And I'm really sorry to those of you who are suffering a heat wave, if I could I would take about 20 degrees from you because we are currently suffering from rain and ickyness. It's not fun. Send sun ASAP.

Golfer

Bria has picked up a new hobby these days, and she insists on wearing her visor before she even thinks about swinging her golf club.

Reese enjoying from the sidelines in a baby tub

Thumbs up for golfing
I was quite impressed with Bria's swing, maybe we'll take her to the driving range soon. Or maybe just a game of miniature golf :)
Reese was a very considerate audience member

Tap it in, just tap it in (movie reference, anyone?)

Oh yeah, she's a pro!
Thanks Aunt Heather for the golf clubs :)

We have a pretty exciting new addition to our little family. It's not another baby, cuz yeah, that's not happening. I will give you a hint, it's name is BOB. :)
