Moms rock

I had an incredible Girts Night Out when my Mom and sisters came up for a night, it was legendary people.
It's hard to put it all down into writing just how fabulous it was, and we didn't take a ton of pictures...so basically just take my word for it. We are hilarious and it was awesome.

To start things off right, we had dinner at Departure. It's a fabulous chic restaurant on top of the Nines Hotel in downtown Portland. Wouldn't it you know that the Spurs were staying there, ya know, the professional basketball team. No big deal.
Alright so maybe we didn't dine with them, or even see all but one of them, but hey...it was still super cool.

Kayla and me

The food was incredible. Seriously out of this world. And the drinks were not too shabby either. And what is a girls night out without getting hit on? Jaime had a guy buy her a drink and then was too shy to show his face at first, haha. We were cracking up. Not sure if he didn't notice our wedding rings or if he just didn't care, either way it was nice of him.
We went out on the deck before heading out and I never tire of seeing the Portland skyline, gorgeous.

We went home for more fun and chatting then all went to bed and called it a night. We needed our beauty sleep because Saturday we shopped all day long. From 11-6:30 we were at the stores doing our part to contribute to the economy. It's a tough job but someones gotta do it.

It was a wonderful weekend that ended too soon, but what is left are fabulous memories and a big dent in our purses ;)

Choppity chop

I got Reese's hair cut for the first time last week. I know that's a little early consider the girl doesn't have a ton of hair, but she was kind of rockin' the mullet do and I wanted to get rid of that. This little girl has spunk and personality which screams a bob haircut to me. So a little bob we did. Her sides are still a little short but as they grow out it will be a perfect little cut on her.
We went during preschool so it was just Reese and I, she did amazing. Watched My Little Pony the entire 15 minutes without making a peep or moving.

 And the finished product?
Adorbs!

"Can I just enjoy my sucker in peace Mom?"
The next morning after I washed it her curls flipped a little:
Pretty stinkin' cute :)
Also last week, I enjoyed a fabulous wine and paint night out. I'm sure you have heard of them since they are the latest craze, I was very happy to join the band wagon and definitely want to do it again. I went with Roxie and her friend Allison and we all had a pretty great time.

In the middle of painting our masterpieces
It was neat to see how it progressed, at first I was very scared of all the different, random, colors we were using. But at the end it all came together very nicely.

Here is the artists picture....at the Blazer game in the background because HELLO! Rip City baby.

 And my finished product:

I'm not an artist but it didn't turn out too bad and I really enjoyed doing it. Gotta love Portland with it's abundance of cool things to do :)

Well hello there hotness!

Seriously, we had some very hot days up in here. Which is unheard of in Oregon..in May. We got a little taste of what it will be like this summer with no AC.
NOT. HAPPY.
I was grumpy and sweaty and hot. And that was after ONE 88 degree day. This is bad people, I'm in serious need of an AC!
However, for the most part we enjoyed the sunny weather and went to the park a lot.

Baby wearing

Also, we love having Aunt Kayla stay with us. I know it's hard for her to be away from Lance and Sage and her home, but we sure love when she is here. All day the girls ask for her...
Reese clobbering her
And you may have heard of the infamous Blazer game last Friday where Lillard made history with his game winning 3 pointer!!! Boo ya!
We watched it with Lance and Kayla and had a blast.
Rip City baby!
In other news, Bria is hitting the town with style...
AKA, we have a blast at Charming Charlie's together and try on everything :)
Also, have I mentioned that I love all the trails near our house. It's crazy how we can feel like we're deep in the forest just a few minutes away from our house.
Nature walk
This weekend will prove to be pretty rad, my Mom and sisters are coming up to stay the night and we're going to have a blast! Cannot wait!

Surprise, we're going to Great Wolf Lodge!!!

Brian knows me well, which is good since we're married and all.
He knows I love surprises and vacations so he did both and I was THRILLED.

Tuesday morning he went to work early. Normally I have Penny on Tuesdays but Lark had texted the night before saying she was going to keep Penny home and take her to the doc since her eyes and nose were acting up.
Anyway, Brian called at 9 am and asked if I needed anything from the grocery store, specifically for our trip to Great Wolf Lodge.
Errr, what?!
He told me to start packing, we were leaving at 11 am.
I was so excited I could barely stand it. I packed and off we went to have a mid-week, surprise, family vacation!

In the car!

Great Wolf Lodge hear we come!!
The drive went great. We checked in then headed up to our room where the girls got to sleep in bunk beds in a little cave, they loved it.

Did I mention Reese had serious attitude when it came to pictures? Ugh.

We put our suits on and went to have the time of our lives. This place is perfect for us because our girls LOVE the water, it's their happy place for sure. Brian and I took turns with each girl, one would play with Reese in one of the many swimming areas and the other would take Bria down all the slides. She was tall enough to go on all but the big Tornado one. She LOVED the slides. Watching her face and hearing her squeal was pure joy. One time with Brian as they were going down she shouted, "This is the best day ever!"
I think he was pretty happy with himself for planning such a wonderful family trip.
We swam and swam and swam some more. There are so many different things to play with, slides to go down, and pools to go in. Reese does not like being held in the water, she wants her life jacket and then wants to swim all over the place. She smiles the whole time and laughs with excitement.
I must say, it was very nice to watch my girls have such a carefree good time.
Once we wore them out, we headed back to the room for baths and then some dinner.

ATTITUDE!!! Seriously.

After dinner we grabbed some ice cream...

Bria took about 2 bites and said her tummy was full.
This was a huge red flag. She ended up barfing a few hours later, from drinking the chlorine water. Lesson learned and fortunately her tummy ache was short lived and she felt 100% better in the morning.

We attempted story time in the lobby but both girls were exhausted.
Reese fell asleep before it even started and half way through Bria was ready to go to bed. Tired girls!

Wednesday morning after some breakfast we headed out for more swimming fun.

I'm not kidding when I say she has attitude, she is literally rolling her eyes at me. What 2 year old does that? Grrr.
Despite Miss Attitude and Barfy Bria, it was such a nice family trip. We had a great time and made lots of memories, looking forward to many more family trips with our crazy girls!

Friday randoms

I need to play catch up so this post is going to be random and mainly just pictures to keep grandparents happy :)
Let's bullet point, that makes chaos seem organized.

  • A few Saturdays ago, Heather and I took the girls to the mall for shopping and then some lunch. I have some pretty great shoppers in my little girls, especially Reese. She is always shouting the names of stores we frequent and requesting we go there every day.

  •  This last Saturday was a busy one for us, we had a birthday party in the afternoon at this bouncy place which is a fabulous way to let the kids get some energy out, and then we headed to Big Al's for family fun with the Buell's and Inukai's.

Bria is the blur and Reese did not want to be pictured

Big Al's was CRAZY, but the girls had a blast

Just strikin' a pose in Costco, what? You don't wear your bike pads to the store?

Has to be like her big sis

Loving the swing
  • For like 3 or 4 nights in a row when we went to check on Reese before we went to bed, this is how we found her:

It was a different book each night and it was too funny to see her passed out in mid book.

I think that is all my randoms for today, I do have a post about a fun vacation that we took earlier this week! Check back soon :)
Not too soon though ;)
