She's got spirit, yes she does!

Obviously Brian and I are big Oregon State fans. We met in college, cheered there together, and graduated from there. College holds some of our best memories. And even though we may not be financial donors right now (one day we'll make a big donation and then they'll name the stadium after us ;) we are prepping our daughter to go there:

And just so you know she's been spirited since the beginning:

Oh mr. sun, sun, mr. golden sun...

Since the sun doesn't seem to be shining enough for my hair to lighten up, I went and had it done artificially. Actually, I was just well over do for a hair cut and decided to mix things up and get some blond highlights.

I'm happy with how it turned out, plus it just feels healthier.

This week I am busy packing up the apartment so I thought I would try and throw a bunch of pictures in one post to hold the grandparents over for awhile ;)

It's unseasonably cold here this month and that makes me sad. I am so ready to go outside and feel warmth, instead of having to wear my winter coat and gloves. So we still try and think of indoor activities to do to keep Bria entertained. I decided to have her help me make some cookies, I've been looking forward to this day for a long time. For some reason I've always thought how fun it would be to make cookies with her. She may still be a little young but we sure had fun, even if the KitchenAid scared her a little.

We have had a few sunny days here and there and everyone and their dog goes to the park. Including us. Minus our dog.

It feels so good to see the sun and my skin thanks me, seriously, I am so pasty that I know my skin is missing a little sun exposure.

Grammy gave Bria a bubble machine and she LOVES it. I'm going to have to try and make some bubble solution because she could sit out there for hours and chase bubbles.

We met Lanie and Bristol at the park along with Lanie's cousin and her two girls. They were all in heaven being outside and playing with each other.

I love when little kids hold hands, it's so precious.

This week we are staying busy with fun stuff and with packing. Yesterday was gymnastics class and Bria did so well. She loves the bar, they have a short one for little kids and she'll hang on it and swing her feet up in between her hands, it's very impressive :) She also loves the foam pit and especially loves when I throw her in it. She is getting a lot better at jumping, still does more of a gallop than a two footed jump, but she's getting better each time.

This morning we went to the Zoo with Lanie and Bristol (pictures to come) and had such a good time. Love going there.

Tomorrow Lanie and Bristol are coming over to help us pack and the rest of the week will be more packing :)

I'm looking forward to being done with this whole moving stuff, we plan on being in this house for years and hope it works out that way because I despise moving.

I like when we're all settled and get to have fun, like going out to dinner on Friday nights, I always look forward to that :)

Wish us luck packing and moving, we have lots of help from friends and family which is so much appreciated. It makes it ten times easier when you have help.

High heels

Bria hasn't always had a love of dressing up. She would prefer to stay in her pj's all day or just be naked, so it wasn't a huge surprise to me that dressing up wasn't her idea of fun. However, she has come around a little, especially when it comes to tiaras and high heels.

This week has been a little rough, the baby in my belly decided to make me feel sick (more information on the baby blog) so Brian stayed home one day and watched Bria while still working. Yesterday was a tv day while I layed on the couch and today I'm feeling a little better so hopefully we can get out of the house, or at least do some fun things.

I haven't started packing yet, but I'm hoping to do that in the next few days. I seriously cannot wait to move, this apartment is driving me crazy. Our neighbors smoke 10 times a day and they stand right outside the door so our apartment REEKS of smoke. This did not help my nausea.

This weekend is our last low key weekend for awhile and then things are going to get crazy. Moving one weekend, Easter the next, camping, and my nieces baptism. All fun stuff, just busy busy. Let's hope the weather starts warming up and getting dryer, I'd love to see that thing called the sun.

She's sugar and spice...

Bria can be adorable and funny and intelligent and I love to brag about her. What Mom doesn't? But just so we're all clear, she's a typical toddler who throws major, hysterical fits.

First, let me tell a cute thing about Bria for journaling purposes.

Randomly, Bria sat down on the lid of our cube and said, "Mom, I just need a break."

Then sat down like this for a little bit.

I about died laughing. She totally gets this from me because when I'm about to lose my patience completely I sit myself in her time out and take a break. Apparently she has caught on and thinks she needs to do the same thing.

It makes me giggle every time.

I wish she would have taken a break on Friday after her nap because holy cow, she had the mother of all meltdowns. I am sooooooo grateful Brian was here because I honestly would've gone insane. She woke up crabby and about 3 minutes later started crying hysterically. No matter how hard we tried she would not tell us what was wrong. Brian took her in her bedroom and they stayed in there for half an hour while he tried to figure out what was wrong. She started to calm down so we headed to the park but then she lost it in the car. From start to finish it was a good hour of her crying for no reason, at least not a reason she would tell us. After dinner she also had a major meltdown and by the end of the day, Brian and I were exhausted. We are chalking it up to the terrible two's. And we hope the demon has left her body now.

Saturday after her nap was a completely different story. She was the happiest we've seen her in a long time. Like, HYPER and happy and just so full of energy. Dude, this girl is going to be DRAMA in her teen years. Help.

To the zoo!

My cousin and I got a Zoo membership for 14 months for a smokin' deal so now we get to go to the Zoo whenever we want. And the bonus of it all is that Bria and I can ride the Max there. Bria could not wait to get on the "train" and go to the Zoo and see Bristol.

I believe she was asking me a very important question here, like when the heck is the train coming mom?!

The girls had a blast. But not necessarily because of the animals, because they got to run around with each other.

They ran all over.

I'm not lying.

They stopped a few times to look at the animals.

But then they went back to running.

I think we'll be spending most of our summer at the Zoo, even if it is just to run around.

In other Holcomb news, we are going to be moving. Not very far, about 7 minutes away into a house. We are not buying it, just renting, but I cannot tell you how excited we are. It's been tough going from a house to an apartment (queue the violins) and so we decided to start looking for a house to rent. We weren't in a hurry but we found a gem and are so excited. Lawn maintenance is included which is great since we don't have a lawn mower anymore and the most exciting thing for me is that there is A/C!!!! I was so worried about being pregnant in the summer and having to endure hot weather with no escape. I'm just so giddy to have a/c.

So we're going to be moving in the middle of April and it can't come soon enough. I'm not excited about moving again because that sucks, but it'll be worth it.

And that about wraps up our news for now. Wednesday is our next baby appointment and hopefully we get to schedule the big u/s at this one, yay!

Waking up on the wrong side of the bed

I woke up a little cranky this morning, mainly because Bria woke up early and for some reason that always puts me in a bad mood. It's stupid I know, but I just can't help it. I'm gonna do great with a toddler and newborn, huh? ;) I'm taking applications for live a live in nanny, the only requirement is that you are related and love my children to the moon and back. I can think of a few people ;)

Anyway, she had a few meltdowns before we even had a chance to eat breakfast and I was so frustrated. Brian came over and was rubbing my shoulders which felt heavenly and Bria was watching us intently. Brian gave me a kiss and said, "I love you," and then went to finish getting ready for work. Bria looked at me and said, "Mommy loves Daddy too." I love what these little kids pick up.

So our morning is getting better, I'm drinking coffee (I'm allowed 300 mg of caffeine so back off, I don't do it every morning! I'm a little touchy :) and blogging while Bria watches some tv. Then we'll get ready for the day and...well I'm not sure what we'll do. But in the very least we'll play with fairies or color or paint or something.

Trail Blazers!

Kyle got us an unbelievable hook up. We got club seats to a Blazer game (Blazers vs. Mavs) and it was incredible. It was a welcome home gift to Lance since he's a huge Blazer fan and it was the perfect gift, way to go Kyle!

There were 6 of us that went: Jenny & Kyle, Lance & Kayla, and Brian & me. Brian and I rode the Max there (a huge perk of living in the big city ;) and we had dinner there since they had unbelievable food and it was all free, since we're high rollers and all ;)
We had such a good time even before the game started. When it was time to take our seats I couldn't wait to see the Stunt team out on the court. Brian and I did the Stunt team a few years back and we had some good times, it was really fun to see them out there.
And the biggest surprise of all was waiting for the 3rd quarter:
Not only was Lance on the jumbotron, they announced his name and rank and thanked him for his service to our country. Can you believe that?! If you look closely you can see his rank and name on the jumbotron: Petty Officer 3rd Class Lance Armstrong. Lance was on cloud 9, he was in shock and kept saying the whole night how he couldn't believe he was on the jumbotron. It was so awesome and once again, a huge thanks to Kyle for that awesome hook up.

The game was absolutely unbelievable. We ended up winning by 3 points and it was so exciting!
